    KEY NICU FACILITIES AND EQUIPMENT

Advanced Technology for Your Baby’s Safety and Comfort

The high level of care in our NICU is guaranteed by our commitment to utilizing the latest medical technology. These advanced facilities and equipment are crucial for accurate monitoring, controlled treatment, and infection prevention.

    • Ventilator with Pulmonary Graphic Display: Our latest ventilators support volume-control ventilation, an ideal mode for premature and sick babies that helps to minimize complications from artificial ventilation.
    • Bubble CPAP: An excellent device for respiratory support that helps to minimize intubation and allows babies to come off ventilator support sooner.
    • Opti-flow (Blended Oxygen): We use blended, humidified oxygen and air even for small quantities, preventing oxygen toxicity and protecting the baby’s delicate airway.
    • Cardiac Monitors: Essential for every sick baby, these monitors track saturation, heart rate, respiratory rate, blood pressure (invasive and non-invasive), continuous ECG, temperature, and CVP.
    • Pulse Oximeters: We use the latest technology for accurate saturation monitoring. This allows for immediate alert of dangerous problems and helps prevent oxygen toxicity.
    • Laminar Flow System: A unique, international-standard facility for preparing Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN) and medications in a sterile condition. This is vital for preventing infection in extreme preterm and high-risk babies, reinforcing our commitment to minimizing antibiotic usage and preventing resistance.
    • Syringe Infusion Pumps: All IV fluids and critical medications are administered via infusion pumps to maintain absolute accuracy during infusion, a vital part of neonatal care.
    • Open Care Infant Warmers: To maintain the ideal, comfortable temperature for newborns.
    • Exothermic Mattresses: Used during the transfer of premature and sick babies from the delivery suite or operating theatre to the NICU, ensuring they remain warm during transport.
    • Phototherapy Units: Latest units for effectively treating newborn jaundice.
    • Manikins: Used as essential tools for the ongoing education and training of all our junior doctors and nursing staff in correct neonatal resuscitation and common procedures
